What is a mini tummy tuck?

Featured Image

A mini tummy tuck, also known as a partial abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the lower abdomen. It is similar to a full abdominoplasty (traditional tummy tuck) but is less extensive.

In a mini tummy tuck, the surgeon makes a smaller incision typically just above the pubic area, rather than a larger incision extending from hip to hip as in a full tummy tuck. Through this incision, the surgeon tightens the muscles of the lower abdomen and removes excess skin and fat. The belly button may or may not be repositioned, depending on the specific needs of the patient.

This procedure is suitable for individuals who have a small amount of excess skin and fat below the belly button and do not require extensive correction of the upper abdomen. It is often chosen by people who have maintained a relatively stable weight but struggle with a stubborn lower belly pooch that hasn't responded well to diet and exercise.
