Buccal Fat Removal

Removal of the buccal fat is performed to create a tapered appearance to the lower face. Also known as Bichectomy, the buccal fat pad removal addresses lower facial fullness, chubby cheeks, cherub cheeks, and where performed correctly can lead to a natural slimming of the lower face. The fat pad is removed through the mouth under local anesthetic, just like a dental procedure. There is minimal pain associated with the procedure and the swelling lasts approximately 3 months.
